Somebody in pick No. 219 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Cowboys sat still while Decamerion Richardson, the No. 174 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
The Allen reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 24 they get a building block for the line, and a steal at that. The biggest hole, addressed.
Zach Frazier in pick 56 is fair value, right on his grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Braelon Allen well ahead of where he belonged. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A edge rusher of that caliber at No. 174 is the definition of value, full stop. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Nathaniel Watson at Round 6, Pick 41 is the proof. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
The board fumbled Decamerion Richardson all the way to the 219th overall pick, and they scooped it up. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They paid a round early for Logan Lee in the 233rd pick, more than the board wanted. It fills a real need, too.
They reached into another round for Joshua Cephus, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
