It is the swing that defines the weekend: KT Leveston in the Round 5 slot, a good 46 spots before the room expected him. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The Coker value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 32nd overall pick they get a No. 1 receiver, though the board says they badly overpaid. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Kiran Amegadjie in pick No. 65 is fair value, right on his grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A market-rate tight end, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Ben Sinnott. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A reach for Elijah Jones in pick 131; a little patience would have been rewarded. It adds depth where they could use a little.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Cody Schrader in Round 5, Pick 31, miles early. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for KT Leveston. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They let Jalen Coker come to them and pounced at Round 7, Pick 1. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Steele Chambers at slot 230 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Garret Greenfield in pick No. 232. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
