You could see the war room lean forward. Darius Muasau at slot 250 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through tight end. Every board in the league had Jenkins lower, and that gap is the story. They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 32 they get a problem off the edge, though they paid up to get him. A real need, handled.
They paid sticker price for Brenden Rice in pick No. 64, and that is fine. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Marist Liufau slid further than he should have, and the 95th pick is lovely value for the linebacker. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A clean, defensible pick in Round 4, Pick 33 with a little surplus value in Javon Foster. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
LaDarius Henderson at slot 158 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
No edge and no loss on Frank Gore Jr. in No. 172; it is a wash and a sensible one. It fills a real need, too.
A quiet steal in the 210th overall pick: Josh Proctor for less than the market said. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
