The phones were a trap the Chargers kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.

If Tagovailoa pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it.

Getting Laumea where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
