Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers cashed the board's mistake on Hart: B-.

The Chargers did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Cam Hart fell into Round 7, Pick 13.

A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want. Nugent has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.12 · Pick 12 · JC Latham · OT · rank 15
In the 12th pick they get a plug-and-play piece up front. A clean fit for the roster.
R2.12 · Pick 44 · Jonah Elliss · DE-EDGE · rank 47
Jonah Elliss in No. 44 is fair value, right on his grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R3.12 · Pick 76 · Chris Braswell · LB-EDGE · rank 68
Chris Braswell at pick 76 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R4.12 · Pick 112 · Max Melton · CB · rank 96
The board had Max Melton higher than pick No. 112, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R5.13 · Pick 149 · Drake Nugent · C · rank 160
Drake Nugent at the Round 5 slot is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R6.15 · Pick 190 · Ainias Smith · WR · rank 169
Steal is underselling it; Ainias Smith at Round 6, Pick 15 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R7.13 · Pick 233 · Cam Hart · CB · rank 172
They will replay Cam Hart at slot 233 for years; that is how good the value is. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
