You can draft well and still miss the point. The Chargers did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to edge rusher, which was the need that mattered most. The bottom line is a respectable B-.
The Bisontis pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. Landing Klare that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 22 they get a plug-and-play piece up front. A real need, handled.
A reach on Chase Bisontis in slot 55; the board had better options right there. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Max Klare at Round 3, Pick 22. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Jalon Kilgore in the Round 4 slot lands just on the right side of the ledger. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Zavion Thomas at the 204th overall pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
