The trade table was a mismatch, and the Chargers were on the right end of it, hauling in a fortune in surplus value. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
Irving has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They banked enough surplus on Milton III to cover a lot of smaller sins.
The wide receiver hole is the one line item this class does not answer. George Kittle gives the group a proven body among the projects.
Good work on the whole, with wide receiver the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
No drama and no debate, Bralen Trice went about where he belonged in the Round 2 slot. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A reach on Jeremiah Trotter Jr. in the 47th pick; the board had better options right there. A minor itch, scratched.
A big swing on Bucky Irving at pick 69, well ahead of any board in the building. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A straight-up fair deal on Leonard Taylor III at the 105th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A slide stopped in pick No. 142, with Cam Hart worth more than the price. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Taking Joe Milton III in slot 183 is close to grand larceny; a quarterback that good had no business lasting this long. The roster fit checks out.
