The board owed the Chargers one, and it paid up: Davison Igbinosun, the No. 80 name on the board, sitting there at the 108th pick like a gift left on the doorstep. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.
For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Tucker reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 22nd overall pick they get a long-term starter on the line. A clean fit for the roster.
Chase Bisontis in No. 55 is fair value, right on his grade. It fills a real need, too.
The board fumbled Davison Igbinosun all the way to pick 108, and they scooped it up. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They barely believed it either: Connor Lew still on the board at pick No. 111. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Oscar Delp at the 123rd pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Nadame Tucker at slot 152 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Landon Robinson at the Round 6 slot is a conviction pick that outran the value. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They let Zavion Thomas come to them and pounced at Round 7, Pick 30. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
No edge and no loss on Fa'alili Fa'amoe in Round 7, Pick 40; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
