Every other box got a look, but edge rusher did not. The Chargers will head to camp with the same hole they walked in with. The good and the questionable cancel out to a C.
That Arnold pick is the receipt they will wave around later. They are betting Gore Jr. proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
They were the ones paying the moving tax this weekend.
Not a disaster, not a triumph, just a middling class.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 5 they get a mismatch in the passing game. A real need, handled.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Terrion Arnold at the 44th pick. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A tidy little value on Adonai Mitchell in No. 76, a step better than break-even. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They read the board right and Tyler Davis was the payoff at Round 4, Pick 12. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They went early on Frank Gore Jr. in the Round 5 slot, and the value did not follow. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Jaylan Ford in the 190th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
They paid a round early for Taulia Tagovailoa in pick No. 233, more than the board wanted. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
