Whoever sat across the table from the Chargers should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend.

The Green value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

Budda Baker gives the group a proven body among the projects.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.27 · Pick 27 · Chop Robinson · DE-EDGE · rank 22
In Round 1, Pick 27 they get a premier pass rusher. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R2.3 · Pick 35 · Adonai Mitchell · WR · rank 32
They did well to land Adonai Mitchell in pick 35, just ahead of his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R2.5 · Pick 37 · Kamari Lassiter · CB · rank 40
By-the-book stuff, Kamari Lassiter at the 37th pick squarely in line with his ranking. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R3.2 · Pick 66 · Mike Sainristil · CB · rank 56
The board had Mike Sainristil higher than pick No. 66, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R3.5 · Pick 69 · Ruke Orhorhoro · DT · rank 66
Ruke Orhorhoro at No. 69 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the interior defensive lineman. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R3.7 · Pick 71 · Sedrick Van Pran · C · rank 75
They took Sedrick Van Pran at par in the Round 3 slot, which is nothing to complain about. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R4.5 · Pick 105 · Renardo Green · S · rank 87
Renardo Green at pick No. 105 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A minor need, but a need all the same.
R4.10 · Pick 110 · Zak Zinter · OG · rank 107
Zak Zinter in the Round 4 slot lands just on the right side of the ledger. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R5.4 · Pick 140 · Isaac Guerendo · RB · rank 129
A quiet steal in pick 140: Isaac Guerendo for less than the market said. It fills a real need, too.
R6.6 · Pick 181 · Ty'Ron Hopper · LB · rank 181
Ty'Ron Hopper in No. 181 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
R7.5 · Pick 225 · Garret Greenfield · OT · rank 216
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Garret Greenfield at Round 7, Pick 5 is the proof. A need, and now a little less of one.
R7.33 · Pick 253 · Bub Means · WR · rank 245
Bub Means at the 253rd overall pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
