The trade table was where it all came apart. The Giants shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill. The board sounded every alarm, and the F is the fallout.
They will regret leaving safety for another day if the season turns on it. On value alone, Rakestraw Jr. makes the weekend a net positive.
Spend now, pay later; the math only works if this class delivers.
There is no soft landing here; this class has to massively overperform just to matter.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 4th pick they get a matchup problem out wide at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
In pick 14 they get a blindside protector. The biggest hole, addressed.
In the 27th overall pick they get a disruptor off the edge, outstanding value to boot. A real need, handled.
A tidy little value on Edgerrin Cooper in the Round 2 slot, a step better than break-even. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Ennis Rakestraw Jr. at Round 3, Pick 6 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
By-the-book stuff, Braelon Allen at No. 108 squarely in line with his ranking. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Joe Milton III at No. 195 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Myles Murphy in pick No. 217 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
