You could see the war room lean forward. Ashton Jeanty at Round 4, Pick 31 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
Prieskorn has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. Leaving wide receiver unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
Good work on the whole, with wide receiver the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 31 they get a plug-and-play piece up front, outstanding value to boot. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A top-tier interior defensive lineman at a bargain, Walter Nolen in No. 63, plain and simple. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Tate Ratledge at the Round 3 slot is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Steal is underselling it; Nick Emmanwori at the 95th overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
You do not let a running back like Ashton Jeanty reach pick No. 132 and blink. They did not. The roster fit checks out.
A wild overpay on Caden Prieskorn in Round 7, Pick 41, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
