Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Chiefs spent Round 4, Pick 32 on Jordan Burch, a name the board had a full 67 spots lower.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through tight end. Landing Styles that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
Good work on the whole, with tight end the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 32 they get a pocket-collapsing interior rusher. A real need, handled.
Earnest Greene III at slot 64 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Good price on Jordan Hancock in No. 69, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
They read the board right and Sonny Styles was the payoff at the Round 3 slot. A minor itch, scratched.
Jordan Burch at pick 128 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Kaden Prather at Round 5, Pick 32 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Value said wait; Lander Barton in pick 193 says they were not listening. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A wild overpay on Jalen White in slot 224, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
