Somebody in the Round 7 slot was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Chiefs sat still while Raheim Sanders, the No. 156 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
The Jackson reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 31 they get a seam-stretching tight end, outstanding value to boot. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Donovan Jackson in Round 2, Pick 31 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Deone Walker at the 66th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
By-the-book stuff, Savion Williams at the Round 3 slot squarely in line with his ranking. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
You do not let a safety like Malachi Moore reach slot 132 and blink. They did not. It adds depth where they could use a little.
The board fumbled Raheim Sanders all the way to the 256th pick, and they scooped it up. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
