The Marcus Dumervil pick is the one that will follow the Chiefs into the fall. They took him 63 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
Moore falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 31 they get a double-digit-sack hope at fair value.
A tight end of that caliber at Round 2, Pick 31 is the definition of value, full stop. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Circle this one: Kenneth Grant at the 66th overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Malachi Moore in slot 132 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Nick Nash at pick No. 192 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
