The war room fell hard for Hayden Conner, and it showed at the Round 3 slot: 44 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas.
If one pick saves this weekend, it is Winston Jr.. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
Luther Burden III is a better player than Round 1, Pick 32 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Colston Loveland at No. 64 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
The board fumbled Jihaad Campbell all the way to slot 66, and they scooped it up. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Hayden Conner at pick No. 96 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Kevin Winston Jr. in the Round 4 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It adds depth where they could use a little.
