The rest of the league will want that one back. Ladd McConkey tumbling to the Chiefs in the Round 2 slot is a gift they did not have to think twice about.
The Boyd reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through tight end.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
By-the-book stuff, Jordan Morgan at No. 32 squarely in line with his ranking. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Ladd McConkey at pick No. 64 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Dominick Puni in pick 95. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Brenden Rice at the 131st pick is the proof. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Khristian Boyd in Round 5, Pick 23 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A tidy little value on Myles Harden in slot 173, a step better than break-even. A minor itch, scratched.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Emani Bailey well ahead of where he belonged. It fills a real need, too.
