Nobody had Logan Brown this high, and it is not close. The Chiefs reached 94 spots to get him at pick 63. Fine in stretches, shaky in others: a C+.
Getting Loveland where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. They will regret leaving wide receiver for another day if the season turns on it.
Tight end was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
So much rides on T.J. Sanders that the real verdict is a season or two away.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 31st overall pick they get a pocket-collapsing interior rusher at fair value.
Logan Brown at the 63rd pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Circle this one: Colston Loveland at pick No. 68 is a fall that decides a draft. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Value said wait; Emery Jones Jr. in Round 3, Pick 31 says they were not listening. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A straight-up fair deal on Rylie Mills at slot 132, value and slot in agreement. A need, and now a little less of one.
