You can draft well and still miss the point. The Chiefs did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to tight end, which was the need that mattered most.
The Corley reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 32 they get a home-run threat at receiver. The biggest hole, addressed.
A premium they did not need to pay, Malachi Corley a notch or two before his time. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A straight-up fair deal on Tyler Davis at Round 3, Pick 32, value and slot in agreement. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
