The board owed the Chiefs one, and it paid up: Emmanuel McNeil-Warren, the No. 40 name on the board, sitting there at Round 3, Pick 10 like a gift left on the doorstep.
They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.
The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September. On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 9 they get a coverage-and-run second-level piece at fair value.
In slot 29 they get a true top target at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Kenyon Sadiq in pick 40 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
The board fumbled Emmanuel McNeil-Warren all the way to Round 3, Pick 10, and they scooped it up. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Devin Moore is a better player than the Round 4 slot suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
