The war room fell hard for Matt Lee, and it showed at pick No. 252: 23 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas.
A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. The Taylor-Demerson pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
Adonai Mitchell in slot 32 is fair value, right on his grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They paid sticker price for Patrick Paul in pick 64, and that is fine. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Nice patience on Dadrion Taylor-Demerson, who had no business lasting to pick No. 95. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Jarrian Jones in the 132nd pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
No edge and no loss on Walter Rouse in the Round 5 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A premium they did not need to pay, Tip Reiman a notch or two before his time. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Matt Lee well ahead of where he belonged. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
