The Chiefs did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Derrick Harmon fell into the 66th pick.
The Igbinosun pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a security blanket over the middle, and a steal at that. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Donovan Jackson in Round 2, Pick 32 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Circle this one: Derrick Harmon at the 66th pick is a fall that decides a draft. The roster fit checks out.
Jalen Royals at slot 100 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They went early on Joshua Gray in pick No. 163, and the value did not follow. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Robert Spears-Jennings in pick 169 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Davison Igbinosun at No. 200 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A minor itch, scratched.
