The Chiefs did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Jordan Phillips fell into pick No. 132. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.
The offensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 31 they get a two-high chess piece, and a steal at that. Need was not the driver here.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Harold Fannin Jr. at Round 2, Pick 31. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Elic Ayomanor slid further than he should have, and slot 66 is lovely value for the wide receiver. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Jordan Phillips in No. 132 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
