Kansas City Chiefs

Best value of the weekend goes to the Chiefs for Wallace: B.

The Chiefs' one glaring miss is tight end, a need they left exactly as they found it. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.

Landing Wallace that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. The skill positions did well by the weekend.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.32 · Pick 32 · Adonai Mitchell · WR · rank 32
In the 32nd overall pick they get a weapon on the perimeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
R2.32 · Pick 64 · T.J. Tampa · CB · rank 51
A tidy bit of business in pick 64, where T.J. Tampa graded well above the range. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
R3.32 · Pick 95 · Brenden Rice · WR · rank 96
No edge and no loss on Brenden Rice in Round 3, Pick 32; it is a wash and a sensible one. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R4.32 · Pick 132 · Roger Rosengarten · OT · rank 135
Roger Rosengarten at the 132nd pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R5.23 · Pick 159 · Isaiah Davis · RB · rank 156
Isaiah Davis in No. 159 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R5.37 · Pick 173 · Tykee Smith · S · rank 160
Tykee Smith is a better player than the Round 5 slot suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
R7.32 · Pick 252 · Trevin Wallace · LB · rank 234
Trevin Wallace at slot 252 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
