The Chiefs' one glaring miss is tight end, a need they left exactly as they found it.
Every board in the league had Boyd lower, and that gap is the story. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 32 they get a true top target at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A clean, defensible pick in the Round 3 slot with a little surplus value in Kingsley Suamataia. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Khyree Jackson in pick No. 95 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Justin Eboigbe in No. 132 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. The roster fit checks out.
Trevor Keegan in the 137th pick is fair value, right on his grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Khristian Boyd. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
The board had Dwight McGlothern higher than the 173rd overall pick, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
LaDarius Henderson at slot 252 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
