There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Chiefs started one anyway for Nathan Pickering, 124 picks ahead of schedule. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.

That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They went 7 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game. The offense got the lion's share of the attention.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
