After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Giants committed. J.J. McCarthy is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
The Ulofoshio pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close.
A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want. McCarthy has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a passer to set the clock by, though they paid up to get him.
Troy Franklin slid further than he should have, and Round 2, Pick 7 is lovely value for the wide receiver. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
You do not let an offensive lineman like Jordan Morgan reach the 47th overall pick and blink. They did not. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Kamren Kinchens at the 57th pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A straight-up fair deal on Cooper Beebe at No. 70, value and slot in agreement. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Steal is underselling it; Jalen McMillan at pick 108 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Value with a capital V on Jarrian Jones in slot 140, a genuine coup. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Braelon Allen at pick No. 185 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Edefuan Ulofoshio in the Round 6 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
