The Texans spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Wyatt Milum, the No. 36 name on the board, in the Round 7 slot. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 20 they get a weapon on the perimeter at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Taking Colston Loveland in the 58th pick is close to grand larceny; a tight end that good had no business lasting this long. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They robbed the room for Nick Emmanwori here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Circle this one: Alfred Collins at the Round 4 slot is a fall that decides a draft. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Tahj Brooks in Round 5, Pick 28 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They barely believed it either: Wyatt Milum still on the board at pick 243. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
