Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Kedon Slovis got past him. The Packers do not have to explain a thing at the Round 5 slot.
They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The cost of the Stogner reach is exactly the players who went right after him.
They were the ones paying the moving tax this weekend.
In the end, one you will need a couple of seasons to truly judge.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 25 they get a building block for the line. A clean fit for the roster.
A tidy bit of business in the 41st overall pick, where Graham Barton graded well above the range. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Calen Bullock at the 57th pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the safety. A minor itch, scratched.
Value with a capital V on Blake Corum in pick No. 88, a genuine coup. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A quiet steal in slot 92: Malachi Corley for less than the market said. It fills a real need, too.
A slide stopped in Round 3, Pick 37, with Roman Wilson worth more than the price. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A tidy little value on Leonard Taylor III in pick 125, a step better than break-even. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Kris Abrams-Draine in the Round 4 slot. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
