The board owed the Cowboys one, and it paid up: Jordan Magee, the No. 160 name on the board, sitting there at No. 216 like a gift left on the doorstep. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most.
Nothing gained and nothing lost at the table.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
Tyler Guyton at the 35th pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Junior Colson slid further than he should have, and the Round 2 slot is lovely value for the linebacker. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Nice patience on Javon Baker, who had no business lasting to pick No. 87. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They read the board right and DJ James was the payoff at Round 4, Pick 4. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They robbed the room for Isaiah Davis here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Somehow Jordan Magee was still sitting there in No. 216, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Trey Taylor is a better player than pick 244 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
