Somebody in the Round 4 slot was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Giants sat still while Treydan Stukes, the No. 72 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. The board rewarded a patient, disciplined weekend with a A-.
The cost of the Proctor reach is exactly the players who went right after him. They punted on safety, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Adding Ryan Flournoy by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.
Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Jeremiyah Love and all.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 12 they get a three-down runner, and a steal at that.
Omar Cooper Jr. in pick No. 37 is fair value, right on his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A straight-up fair deal on Bryce Lance at slot 92, value and slot in agreement. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Treydan Stukes in No. 105 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. The roster fit checks out.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Kaleb Proctor this early at the 112th pick. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
No edge and no loss on Kaytron Allen in the 145th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Kaleb Elarms-Orr at Round 6, Pick 5 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
A premium they did not need to pay, Cole Payton a notch or two before his time. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A tidy little value on Josh Cameron in slot 193, a step better than break-even. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
