The Commanders went off the board in a big way for Taylen Green, 119 picks early. Conviction is one thing; this is another.
If one pick saves this weekend, it is Arroyo. They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own.
They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 22 they get a matchup problem out wide. The biggest hole, addressed.
Malaki Starks at slot 56 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It adds depth where they could use a little.
They took Darien Porter at par in No. 78, which is nothing to complain about. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Quinshon Judkins at the 116th pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Value said wait; Taylen Green in Round 5, Pick 9 says they were not listening. It fills a real need, too.
Xavier Truss in the 199th overall pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A quiet steal in pick No. 232: Clay Webb for less than the market said. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
By-the-book stuff, Kaden Prather at the Round 7 slot squarely in line with his ranking. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Elijah Arroyo in the 246th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
