You could see the war room lean forward. Jacob Rodriguez at pick 71 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.
They are betting Whittington proves the room right and everyone else wrong. A whole weekend of picks and tight end is somehow still a want.
Good work on the whole, with tight end the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 7 they get a downhill hitter at safety at fair value. More want than need.
They robbed the room for Jacob Rodriguez here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Nothing to complain about; Amare Thomas went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Matt Gulbin. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Taylen Green slid further than he should have, and pick No. 209 is lovely value for the quarterback. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They went early on Noah Whittington in Round 7, Pick 7, and the value did not follow. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
