The trade table was where it all came apart. The Commanders shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill. Put together, it is a D.
Jayden Daniels gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. Leaving tight end unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. That McCaffrey pick is the receipt they will wave around later.
It is a steep hill from here, and the grade knows it.
Pick-by-Pick
Jayden Daniels at pick 10 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The roster fit checks out.
They took Cooper DeJean at par in pick No. 11, which is nothing to complain about. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Kool-Aid McKinstry at the 40th pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They did well to land Javon Bullard in the Round 3 slot, just ahead of his grade. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Mohamed Kamara slid further than he should have, and No. 138 is lovely value for the edge rusher. A need, and now a little less of one.
They let Anthony Gould come to them and pounced at Round 6, Pick 6. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They will replay Luke McCaffrey at the 183rd overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Josh Proctor at slot 220 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
