The Commanders spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Dominic Zvada, the No. 95 name on the board, in the Round 7 slot.
The cost of the Bryant reach is exactly the players who went right after him. The wide receiver hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
A top-tier safety at a bargain, Nick Emmanwori in the 61st pick, plain and simple. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
They will replay Jihaad Campbell at the Round 3 slot for years; that is how good the value is. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
They robbed the room for Gunnar Helm here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Cobee Bryant this early at pick 146. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Miles Frazier at No. 203 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Dominic Zvada in pick No. 236 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Raheim Sanders at the 247th overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
