The Commanders spent the pick that matters most on Michael Penix Jr., and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape.

Landing Milton that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.

The Commanders paired the rookies with proven help, Broderick Jones leading the way.

Bottom line, they did the job about as well as it can be done.
