Thirty-one other rooms let Joshua Farmer slide, and the Commanders were the ones holding the card at pick 148. Highway robbery.
The tight end spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
The skill positions did well by the weekend.
Good work on the whole, with tight end the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 29 they get a matchup problem out wide, outstanding value to boot. The biggest hole, addressed.
They read the board right and Marcus Mbow was the payoff at pick 61. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Jack Bech slipping to Round 3, Pick 15 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Somehow Joshua Farmer was still sitting there in slot 148, and they pounced on premier interior defensive lineman value. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A tidy bit of business in the Round 6 slot, where Antwane Wells Jr. graded well above the range. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
No drama and no debate, Jaishawn Barham went about where he belonged in No. 238. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
A straight-up fair deal on Torricelli Simpkins III at the 250th pick, value and slot in agreement. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
