Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Erick All at the 100th overall pick is 192 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B+.
The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Robinson falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get juice off the edge, and a steal at that. A real need, handled.
They paid sticker price for Troy Fautanu in the 36th pick, and that is fine. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Jeremiah Trotter Jr. at pick 37 is a conviction pick that outran the value. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
A real head-scratcher, Blake Fisher in Round 2, Pick 13 is miles ahead of his ranking. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A big swing on Devontez Walker at No. 68, well ahead of any board in the building. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Erick All in slot 100, miles early. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They jumped the gun on Max Melton, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Ashton Gillotte. The roster fit checks out.
Luke Reimer in Round 6, Pick 7 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
They reached a country mile for Frank Gore Jr. at the 225th pick, and the board is aghast. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
