Call it larceny. De'Corian Clark sat on the board until slot 250, and the Dolphins did not need to be asked twice. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
The Hart pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with quarterback, edge rusher and other spots still on the board. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
Nothing to complain about; Javon Foster went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A clean, defensible pick in pick No. 66 with a little surplus value in Cooper DeJean. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
A market-rate interior defensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Leonard Taylor III. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A straight-up fair deal on Kamren Kinchens at slot 71, value and slot in agreement. It adds depth where they could use a little.
A want over a need in No. 104: Cam Hart adds a cornerback while quarterback, edge rusher and other spots keeps waiting.
Beaux Limmer in pick 139 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A need, and now a little less of one.
No edge and no loss on Ty'Ron Hopper in the 166th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Ricky Pearsall in the Round 6 slot. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, De'Corian Clark in pick No. 250, plain and simple. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
