The Commanders spent real capital to be 48 picks early on Gentry Williams, and the board is going to hold them to it. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
Campbell at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. The tight end hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
Omarion Hampton in slot 61 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Jihaad Campbell in the 79th overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A minor need, but a need all the same.
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Tory Horton in No. 146, plain and simple. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Tonka Hemingway at pick No. 203 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They left a pile of value on the table to take J.C. Davis this early at Round 7, Pick 20. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Gentry Williams at pick 247 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
