Every swap seemed to tilt away from the Commanders, and the value they bled adds up to real damage. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
Odunze at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. Spending an early pick on linebacker with quarterback, running back and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
By-the-book stuff, JC Latham at the 11th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Rome Odunze in the 39th pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A linebacker of that caliber at Round 3, Pick 7 is the definition of value, full stop. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Sedrick Van Pran in pick 75 is fair value, right on his grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They paid sticker price for Kiran Amegadjie in No. 100, and that is fine. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Marshawn Kneeland at the Round 4 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They zigged when the board said zag, taking Tommy Eichenberg at linebacker with quarterback, running back and other spots open.
A slide stopped in pick 144, with Shemar Turner worth more than the price. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Somehow Zy Alexander was still sitting there in No. 185, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A conviction pick on Austin Stogner at the Round 7 slot that the board grades a round light. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
