Somebody in the 172nd overall pick was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Eagles sat still while Justin Eboigbe, the No. 124 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. The Puka Nacua pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.
Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Marvin Harrison Jr. and all.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 22 they get a home-run threat at receiver at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Calen Bullock at Round 2, Pick 18 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They did well to land Jackson Powers-Johnson in the 54th pick, just ahead of his grade. The roster fit checks out.
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, Edgerrin Cooper in slot 97, plain and simple. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Will Shipley in the 137th overall pick. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Steal is underselling it; Kris Abrams-Draine at pick 163 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They barely believed it either: Justin Eboigbe still on the board at the Round 5 slot. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Jawhar Jordan in No. 243 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
