Allen falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. The cornerback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Micah Parsons gives the group a proven body among the projects.
They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but cornerback.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 32 they get a bendy edge with upside. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Ozzy Trapilo at the 96th overall pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Darius Alexander at slot 129 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
You do not let a tight end like Oronde Gadsden II reach the Round 5 slot and blink. They did not. The roster fit checks out.
LeQuint Allen in pick No. 166 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It fills a real need, too.
