Somebody in pick No. 166 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Eagles sat still while Dominic Zvada, the No. 95 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. No fireworks, but a solid B+.
The cornerback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 31 they get a downhill hitter at safety, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
They will replay Tyler Warren at No. 65 for years; that is how good the value is. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Grey Zabel in slot 95 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It fills a real need, too.
They barely believed it either: Barrett Carter still on the board at pick 128. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Somehow Cam Skattebo was still sitting there in the 153rd pick, and they pounced on premier running back value. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Tory Horton in the 160th overall pick, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Luke Kandra in the Round 5 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
The board fumbled Dominic Zvada all the way to Round 5, Pick 29, and they scooped it up. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
