The Eagles did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Tyler Guyton fell into slot 50. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. On the needs board they went 6 of 9, with cornerback the one that mattered most.
Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 22 they get a potential shutdown corner at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
They barely believed it either: Tyler Guyton still on the board at the 50th pick. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They took Payton Wilson at par in the 53rd overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. A minor need, but a need all the same.
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Johnny Wilson. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Kitan Oladapo in Round 5, Pick 25 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Dylan Laube slipping to No. 171 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Jaheim Bell at pick No. 172 is money in the bank, a tight end taken below his worth. It fills a real need, too.
Jaylan Ford at the Round 6 slot nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
