Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Emmanuel McNeil-Warren got past him. The Dolphins do not have to explain a thing at the Round 3 slot. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.
The cost of the Allar reach is exactly the players who went right after him. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. The dealing tilted against them, just enough to notice.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with quarterback chief among the fixes.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 11 they get a three-down second-level presence, though they paid up to get him.
In pick 25 they get a plug-and-play piece up front at fair value. A real need, handled.
Chris Bell at Round 2, Pick 11 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They barely believed it either: Emmanuel McNeil-Warren still on the board at No. 94. A minor need, but a need all the same.
