Whoever sat across the table from the 49ers should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend. The bottom line is a respectable B.
The Hurst pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
Emmanuel Pregnon at No. 33 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, A.J. Haulcy at slot 58. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
A real head-scratcher, Ted Hurst in the 62nd pick is miles ahead of his ranking. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Jadarian Price slid further than he should have, and pick No. 70 is lovely value for the running back. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A straight-up fair deal on Oscar Delp at the Round 4 slot, value and slot in agreement. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Good price on Trey Zuhn III in pick 133, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
No drama and no debate, Eli Heidenreich went about where he belonged in Round 7, Pick 30. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
