Start where it matters. The Vikings took Jayden Daniels to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B+.
The Adams steal is the beam this whole class leans on. The Jefferson pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.
The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. For all the activity, tight end went untouched, which is hard to explain.
It is not that Mitchell is a bad player; it is that the Vikings had louder needs to answer first.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but tight end.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 11th overall pick they get their quarterback of the future. The biggest hole, addressed.
In pick No. 23 they get a bendy edge with upside at a price that makes it sweeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Kamari Lassiter is a better player than pick 38 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
The eyebrow-raiser of the weekend. They went cornerback with Quinyon Mitchell while clear needs at tight end sat open.
Blake Corum at the Round 3 slot is money in the bank, a running back taken below his worth. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A wild overpay on Jordan Jefferson in slot 157, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They robbed the room for Isaiah Adams here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They barely believed it either: Luke McCaffrey still on the board at the 179th pick. It fills a real need, too.
Josiah Ezirim in No. 217 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Somehow Omar Brown was still sitting there in pick No. 227, and they pounced on premier safety value. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
