Grand theft in No. 245: the Cowboys steal Logan Jr. and grade out a D.

Every swap seemed to tilt away from the Cowboys, and the value they bled adds up to real damage. A D that will need time and luck to look better.

The Cowboys indulged a want in Braswell while a need in quarterback, running back and other spots stayed open. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. The Logan Jr. steal is the beam this whole class leans on.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, quarterback very much included.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.24 · Pick 24 · Taliese Fuaga · OT · rank 17
In the Round 1 slot they get a blindside protector. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R2.24 · Pick 56 · Xavier Legette · WR · rank 36
They robbed the room for Xavier Legette here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R2.27 · Pick 59 · Kris Jenkins · DL-EDGE · rank 44
Nice patience on Kris Jenkins, who had no business lasting to Round 2, Pick 27. A minor itch, scratched.
R3.22 · Pick 85 · Chris Braswell · LB-EDGE · rank 56
Of all the spots to shop, they chose edge rusher. Chris Braswell in pick 85 leaves quarterback, running back and other spots for later.
R3.24 · Pick 87 · Cooper Beebe · OG · rank 77
A quiet steal in the 87th pick: Cooper Beebe for less than the market said. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R4.23 · Pick 123 · Max Melton · CB · rank 111
Max Melton in slot 123 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R4.26 · Pick 126 · Mohamed Kamara · DL-EDGE · rank 117
A want over a need in the 126th overall pick: Mohamed Kamara adds an edge rusher while quarterback, running back and other spots keeps waiting.
R5.38 · Pick 174 · Ty'Ron Hopper · LB · rank 153
Ty'Ron Hopper in the 174th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R6.37 · Pick 212 · Josh Proctor · S · rank 187
Taking Josh Proctor in pick 212 is close to grand larceny; a safety that good had no business lasting this long. A minor need, but a need all the same.
R6.45 · Pick 220 · Jared Wiley · TE · rank 205
Jared Wiley at Round 6, Pick 45 is money in the bank, a tight end taken below his worth. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R7.25 · Pick 245 · Kenny Logan Jr. · S · rank 210
A safety of that caliber at slot 245 is the definition of value, full stop. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
