For all the boxes ticked, the Cowboys skipped the loudest one: cornerback is exactly as bare as it was. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
That is an offensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. The cost of the Tagovailoa reach is exactly the players who went right after him.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the cornerback spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a No. 1 receiver. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Tyler Guyton in slot 56 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
No drama and no debate, Zak Zinter went about where he belonged in Round 3, Pick 24. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
